Launched in spring 2007, Coop Naturafarm is an independent private label for meat and eggs produced through animal-friendly free-range and outdoor farming.
Coop Naturafarm laying hens live classic free-range lives – as close to a henC’s natural life as it’s possible to make it. And standards are strict, even down to the food – the hens eat nothing but their natural foraging diet supplemented by certified, GMO-free and origin-assured food.
Which means customers can be sure that every Naturafarm egg they buy was laid by a happy hen – and by checking the laying date and the origin code printed on the egg, they can trace it right back to the original producer.
And Hartmann supplies the suitable egg cartons, which stand out excellently from the other packaging on the supermarket shelf due to their blue color.
The packaging and wholesaling is handled by the leading Swiss egg-trading company Ei AG. To maximise egg protection, sustainability, and marketing impact, they chose Hartmann’s FSC-certified, moulded-fibre Plus Pack™ range (which gave them 10, 6 and 4-egg size options) – and the imagic2® carton was ideal for the XL eggs.
"We use Hartmann cartons for all four Naturafarm packaging sizes because of their exceptional quality, sustainability and a peel-off label. Its a really useful feature, because it can carry loads extra information on the reverse. And this gives us lots of free space to talk about animal welfare. So we can be totally transparent with the customer – nothing is hidden", says Karin Knecht-Bühler, Head of Sales and Logistics at Ei AG. "What’s more, the wide range of sizes and colours gives Coop a huge variety of options for creating product ranges."
