Thanks to a great partnership between Lidl – one of the leading food retailers in Germany and Europe – and our German customer Eierhof Hennes in Euskirchen, Germany – Hartmann has succeeded in making the latest product innovation Plus ViewTM ready for the market.
Plus ViewTM was developed to show coloured and hard-boiled eggs – an egg specialty found mainly in Germany, Austria and Switzerland – at their best. Previously, these eggs were packed in plastic egg cartons to attract consumers to the egg shelf with their bright colour.
Plus ViewTM is now the only moulded fibre-based egg carton in the world where your eggs are visible from the top and front. The unique and revolutionary packaging design of our Plus View™ fits perfect to today's modern eco-conscious consumers demand of eco-friendly products.
With ample labeling space on both the front and back, it provides optimal branding potential. This balanced packaging solution perfectly combines standout visibility with extensive marketing space, offering everything consumers and brands desire in a single, innovative package.
"With its latest Plus ViewTM egg carton, Hartmann is helping us at Lidl to come a little closer to one of our most important sustainability goals, as all own-brand plastic packaging is to be recyclable by 2025."
Alexander Altvater, Purchasing Manager Food Assortment at LIDL Germany
The Plus View™ retains all the key benefits of our innovative Plus Pack™, including its compatibility with high-speed packing machines, exceptional stackability, and advanced closure technology.
Plus View™ not only offers robust protection as you know it from our traditional Plus PacksTM. It also protects your eggs four times better than the previously used plastic packaging, which has been proven by a transport test, a drop test and an inclination test by the Danish Teknologisk institute.
“As one of the largest and most modern dyeing plants in Europe with an hourly output of around 100.000 coloured and boiled eggs, we can confirm that the new Plus View™ egg carton runs perfectly on our various packing lines. We are happy to help Hartmann to develop this sustainable solution for coloured and boiled eggs.”
Daniel Morr, Associate Head of Sales at Eierhof Hennes
