Hartmann Packaging in Ács, Hungary was proud to support a truly inspiring project initiated by Szabó Lőrinc Primary School in Nyíregyháza. As part of a regional sustainability awareness campaign, the school launched a unique initiative that combined creativity, hands-on learning, and community engagement.

More than 30,000 egg cartons were collected from schools across the region and used to build large green pyramids—structures that were then filled with vegetables and compostable materials. This impressive effort not only captured attention for its scale but also offered a powerful educational experience.

Around 300 students took part in the project, learning about sustainability, composting, and home gardening in a fun and engaging way. Through their participation, the children gained a better understanding of how waste can be reused and how small actions can contribute to a greener future.

To celebrate the success of this initiative and recognize the dedication behind it, we awarded the school principal the honorary title of “Ambassador of Sustainability.” As a further gesture of appreciation, the participating students were invited to visit our Ács plant—a memorable day where they could see sustainable practices in action and connect their classroom learning with real-life applications.

We are proud to support projects like this that spark curiosity, encourage responsible thinking, and bring communities together around important environmental goals.
