Our Sustainability Approach
For more than 100 years, recycled paper - a biodegradable material - has always been the primary raw material for our moulded fibre packaging.
Our production process requires energy for drying and handling the formed material, and we are strongly committed to reducing our CO2e emissions steered by our commitment to the Science-Based Target initiative (SBTi).
While we are working intensively with all aspects of sustainability, ensuring a safe work environment and upholding human rights take priority at our facilities.
Sustainability Reports
Hartmann’s sustainability reporting is now included in the THORNICO Company Karma Report. Here, you can explore our work with responsible production, climate impact and circular packaging, alongside sustainability efforts from across the THORNICO Group.
Our sustainability efforts are not just compliance-driven but are deeply integrated into our commercial DNA. Fighting climate change and reducing GHG emission is high on the agenda in Hartmann. During 2025, our focus has gradually expanded from assessment toward stronger execution.
